San Diego Diocese Highlights Our Kids

December 2016 – Thanks to Jim and Norine Bouey the San Diego Catholic Diocese highlighted the “Africa Orphan Program” with an article in the December 2016 issue of the Diocese newspaper the “Southern Cross”.  Jim and Norine had travelled to Africa and, while there, visited Nyumbani Village in Kenya where children in the Program live and attend school.  Sister Mary Owens, the Executive Director of Nyumbani Village, spent considerable time with Jim and Norine as they toured the Village, including visiting with the housemother and children living in a home in the Village that was built by the “Africa Orphan Program” (see photograph).  Jim, as a retired engineer with the Boeing Company, was impressed with the effective organization of the Village including the use of such technology as solar energy and biofuels.
